Cairo semester

UGent is one of the seven participating institutions in the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo (NVIC), a research and education centre in the heart of the Arab world.

Among other things, the NVIC offers specialised training programmes for Dutch and Flemish students, calling on an extensive team of Egyptian and Dutch, Flemish, and international teachers and specialists.

The specialisation degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies/Middle East Studies at UGent has a bilateral agreement with the NVIC, which means that students can acquire credits by participating in an NVIC programme. There are one-semester exchange opportunities in the BA (Middle East Studies) and the MA (Arabic and Islamic Studies).

General info: Click here.

Participation in both programmes is subject to specific conditions (see below), as well as approval by UGent and the NVIC.
